Taken with the Panasonic Lumix 3D-1 camera, this image shows several stereoscopic visual effects. First, of course, there is the depth effect, showing near and far crystals, their three dimensional shapes and relationships. Then there is the semi-transparency seen in many crystals, and finally there is some specular rivalry here and there. Such rivalry can be a distraction in 3d images, but in this case it is essential to the recognition of the optical quality of this material.
