Frankie Feetsplinter is a wooden troll built in the summer of 2023 by Thomas Dambo and volunteers as part of a public art project titled “Northwest Trolls: The Way of the Bird King”. Frankie stands fourteen feet tall in front of the National Nordic Museum in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle, Washington. Frankie was built using recycled materials (mostly wooden pallets) and is one of six wooden trolls built in the Pacific Northwest as part of an environmental story connecting Coast Salish tribal communities and Scandinavian traditions. Frankie stares down at visitors with big eyes and a huge toothy grin as he crushes a bench with his foot and beckons visitors with outstretched hands.
