Pia the Peacekeeper - Bainbridge Island, Washington

Pia the Peacekeeper is a wooden troll built in the summer of 2023 by Thomas Dambo and volunteers as part of a public art project titled “Northwest Trolls: The Way of the Bird King”. Pia is located in Sakai Park on Bainbridge Island west of Seattle, Washington. Pia was built using recycled materials (mostly wooden pallets) and is one of six wooden trolls built in the Pacific Northwest as part of an environmental story connecting Coast Salish tribal communities and Scandinavian traditions. Pia is eighteen feet tall and stands as both a warning and an invitation to respect and care for the environment. Photo taken with a Fujifilm 3D Camera on July 23, 2026
