Bruun Idun is a wooden troll built in the summer of 2023 by Thomas Dambo and volunteers as part of a public art project titled “Northwest Trolls: The Way of the Bird King”. Bruun Idun is located in Lincoln Park along the waterfront in West Seattle. Bruun Idun was built using recycled materials (mostly wooden pallets) and is one of six wooden trolls built in the Pacific Northwest as part of an environmental story connecting Coast Salish tribal communities and Scandinavian traditions. Bruun Idun is around sixteen feet tall and stands on the shoreline playing a giant flute to call native orcas back to Puget Sound. Photo taken with a Fujifilm 3D Camera on July 23, 2026
