As a fan of stereo pictures ever since my childhood, I started taking such pictures myself in 1995 using FED and Stereo Realist cameras. From 2008 onwards these were complemented with an RBT made digital rig with two hardwired Nikon Coolpix compacts. After the Nikons' sensors got defunct, I switched to homemade rigs using Canon compacts with SDM. Recently I tried to use one of these (based on the XS260HS model) to take 3D pictures of wildlife, especially birds. Some examples are presented at this site.
