Two days later, this view was recorded from the commune of Villeperdrix, and this rounded hill in the shadow of a cloud is, of course, Montrond. There's the St Laurent plateau, the flat expanse to its left and the sinuous indentation corresponds to part of the St May gorges created by the Eygues. Another curiosity of this image is that the clouds seem to be closer than the foreground! This is the problem with a single camera and fast-moving clouds: it's their displacement between the two images that creates this curious effect. While the altitude is only slightly lower than that of the Montrond, thanks to the more abundant vegetation, the birds are there to provide a springtime soundscape.
