2016 is also the year I discovered another passion: active volcanoes. This time it's in Sicily that the equipment will get acquainted with much more recent geological curiosities. As airlines have reduced the weight of checked-in luggage, for the same reason as above, here's another 2D image of this new, much lighter configuration. The astronomical mount, weighing over 5 kilos, has been replaced by a homemade wooden support weighing around 100 grams, and the other kilos have been saved with this ultra-light tripod.
