Ah- your comment then made be go back to the originals, and check again and - yes, you are right ! Those were indeed with flash, and that certainly would have influenced the placing of the shadow - well spotted ! (I had done several pairs with various combinations, and had convinced myself this pair were natural light )

OK... There is something weird with the shadows nonetheless.

No, no flash it was natural light. I plan to repeat something similar against plain black and plain white backgrounds, and will see whether that improves the effect.

Did you use a flash?
The shadows moved between the two shots which has two main effects on this particular photo:
- the shadow projected onto the background element looks like it is further back
- some parts inside the flower are shown in one eye and in the dark for the other eye, which create some small rivalries
Using integrated flash is tricky for stereo, and probably a bad choice in every cha-cha.
